Kindness Action Network (KAN) Day - Coming Soon

  All the service committees are working on devising projects they can do on KAN Day. 

There will be two work days and you can sign up for both:

Set up at Friends Place - Friday night starting at 5:30 p.m.  This will be setting up tables and getting the rooms ready for Saturday morning.  It would be a good time to bring things like coffee pots, serving accessories, water, etc.

Kindness Day at Friends Place - Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.  This will be setting out the components for the projects and getting ready to open and get started at 9:00 a.m.  We will need people to help clean and put Friends Place back together after the event.

The projects are:

  Days for Girls - An International Service Project to aid women and girls in depressed areas learn about their menstrual cycle and provide reusable kits for better hygiene during their periods.       

New Friends New Life - A non-profit organization that helps those rescued from human trafficking rebuild their lives.

        Military Service - Providing items and package "Grab Bags” for Blue Star Mothers to take to the Fisher House to distribute to wounded vets, and other items to go to the VA Hospital.

        RISD – Make ‘Busy Bags’ for the RISD Intake Center to keep young children occupied while their parents ae filling out forms and older siblings are taking tests.  The RISD Intake Center aids new students to the district in finding the best place for them to attend school as a new student.

Hope's Door:   Making birthday bags with needed hygiene items for women escaping family violence.

Patriot Paws – making dog toys using plastic water bottles.
