Kindness Community Service Projects
✨ Days for Girls – This International Project will involve making components for menstrual health kits. Days for Girls works to eliminate the stigma and limitations associated with menstruation so that women and girls have improved health, education and livelihoods.
✨ New Friends New Life (NFNL) – This project will involve preparing 100 snack bags to support this incredible initiative. New Friends New Life's Mission is to restore and empower trafficked and sexually exploited women, teens, and their children, and drive awareness of the issue and its prevalence.
✨ RISD Intake Center – This project will involve assembling 330 bags filled with books, fidget toys, crayons, and coloring books. The Intake Center is the central facility where students new to RISD are assess for language ability and placement. These kits will keep the children engaged during the intake process.
✨ Military – Blue Star Mothers of America (BSMA) – This project will involve filling 50 care packages for our troops. The Blue Star Mothers have already decorated the boxes, and all supplies are ready to go! BSMA is a congressionally chartered veterans service organization with a mission to support active military personnel, veterans, and their families, while promoting patriotism and fostering a sense of community.
✨ Military - Patriot Paws – This project will involve creating Snuffle Mats! What is a snuffle mat, you ask? Well, you will have to attend to find out how these fun, creative, learning toys are created and how they benefit Patriot Paws’ mission to train and provide Service Dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American Veterans and others with mobile disabilities in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.
✨ Hope’s Door New Beginnings Center – This project will involve preparing 36 "Birthday in a Bag" kits, which will provide everything needed for a birthday celebration to families who might not otherwise afford one. The mission of Hope’s Door New Beginning Center is to offer intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence, and to provide education programs that enhance the community’s capacity to respond.
✨ Ability House – This project will involve making 16 friendship bracelets for our friends and residents of Ability House, a group home supported by Ability Connection Texas, who serves individuals with intellectual disabilities and other related conditions.
✨ Altrusan Outreach – This project will involve preparing handwritten notes of care, friendship, support and kindness, helping us connect/reconnect with those in our community, reminding them they are in our thoughts.
