2010 Scholarship Winners

The Scholarship Committee received several scholarship applications and the decision making process was tough.  All applicants were outstanding and the committee selected the following four (4) applicants as the Altrusa International, Inc. of Richardson, Texas 2010 Scholarship Winners:

Andrea Abeln is a Berkner High School Senior, ranked 5th in a class of 665 students.  Andrea applied to Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Yale, and Brown, and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. (pictured above)

Alyssa Anderson is a Berkner High School Senior, ranked 6th in a class 665 students. Alyssa plans to major in English/Creative Writing and has applied to Trinity University, Texas A&M, and University of Texas at Austin.  (pictured above)

Rahiel Alemu is a Lake Highlands High School Senior, ranked 31st in a class of 494 students. She has applied to  Emory University and University of Chicago, and plans to major in International Trade Specialists. (not pictured above)

Samantha Couch is a Lake Highlands High School Senior, ranked 33rd in a class of 494 students.  Samantha plans to major in Engineering and Business and has applied to Trinity University, Texas A&M, University of Texas, and the United States Naval Academy. (pictured above)

Scholarship winners were honored at the April 15, 2010 Dinner Meeting.

The vision and future of each of these amazing young women is an inspiration to us all.  We wish them all the best in their future endeavors - and we are glad to be a small part of their big and bright future!
