Community Outreach: MaDD Book Delivery

Altrusa Richardson through the leadership of the Sophomore Sisters will be gathering to deliver childrens books to the executive staff of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.   Please join us to show your support of literacy and the great work performed by the staff at Scottish Rite Hospital and the children they serve every day.

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia, with a literacy project focused on enhancing the lives of these children through reading, which is a great way to escape the treatment, surgery, and rehabilitation these children encounter every day. 

On Saturday October 26, Altrusans gathered to sort over 1,700 books for donation and delivery to the Hospital as well as for donations to the District Nine West, TX  Library Rebuild Project and NETWORK and Terrace Elementary.  Thank you to all who donated books.  Now, we ar ready to make the delivery!!!

We will be carpooling to the Hospital.  Please indicate if you will drive as part of the carpool or attending to assist with the delivery.
